Saturday delivers another monster matchup as two teams coming off their first losses of the season look for major comebacks in Indianapolis. Will it be Indiana or Louisville bouncing back as these teams face off for the third season in a row?

Major progress for Louisville (7-1) in recent years has been certain, punctuated by their nice win over rival Kentucky just a few weeks ago. The Cardinals unfortunately came back home from their first true road test of the year, losing by 9 points to Arkansas as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge, though Pat Kelsey’s team will certainly be ready for a big challenge from their nearby rival.

Darian DeVries has only just started at Indiana (7-1) but his hand on the program has already created great results. The Hoosiers made quick work of Marquette and Kansas State in early wins, though the first road test in his tenure did not go as planned. The Hoosiers need to quickly shake off a dreadful performance at Minnesota from Wednesday night because this is a very winnable game against a Top 10 foe.

Indiana Hoosiers

Tucker DeVries (17.9 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 3.4 apg)

Reed Bailey (11.3 ppg, 4.1 rpg)

Conor Enright (4.1 ppg, 4.3 apg)

There’s plenty of talent on the court at all times for both of these teams. This contest should be more evenly matched than those recent battles, as both Indiana and Louisville look like potential contenders from their early work. Conwell is scoring in droves for the Cardinals and growing into a leader while we’ve seen impressive play from Tucker DeVries across his career. One of these two teams not only gets a major win on their resume in nonconference play, but a big bounce back and avoiding back-to-back losses.

Does a very talented Louisville squad have what it takes to come to Indianapolis and get another solid win? Can Indiana shake off the frustration from earlier this week and prove that they can have a say in the Big Ten in the months ahead?
