Lots of changes have happened at UConn, including the news that Ball will miss all of next season due to a wrist injury. But Mullins elected to enter the NBA Draft, returning for a second year, and was set to be a breakout candidate as a projected lead option.
The new-look frontcourt is also younger, with Hines not having the same kind of offensive talent as Reed at the five, but he is one of the top interior defenders in college basketball. Former five-star prospect Khamenia showed flashes of stardom at Duke and its crowded frontcourt and has the chance to shine with the Huskies. With Demary back to run the offense, the younger roster should still be just as potent as prior contending rosters.
