Tuesday night in Winona Lake, Indiana, felt like any other early-season matchup until it turned into a moment that will be remembered for years.

A Night That Changed Everything in Winona Lake

The Grace College Lady Lancers didn’t just win. They made history.

In a dominant 81-point win over Ohio Christian, the Lady Lancers broke the all-time women’s college basketball scoring record, putting together one of the most amazing offensive displays the sport of basketball has ever seen.

A Relentless Attack from Start to Finish

Grace College came in on a roll, already showing off two high-scoring wins to start the year. But from the opening tip, it was clear this one would be different.

The Lady Lancers ran the floor with crazy speed, knocking down shots from all over the court. Their energy never lowered, even as the score kept climbing. Every possession looked like a highlight reel waiting to happen. They scored 47 in the first quarter and had 93 points at halftime. The second half saw the Lancers add 79 more points.

When it was all over, the scoreboard showed a total that made history and left the gym buzzing. The program record for points before this game was 118.

Topping a Record That Once Felt Untouchable

The previous record for most points scored in a women’s college game was set by Grambling State in 2024. That performance seemed impossible to top, but Grace College’s effort Tuesday night did just that.

Sophomore guard Maddy Poynter led Grace with 34 points, but she had plenty of help. Seven other players scored in double figures, showing just how deep and balanced this team is. Poynter also went 17-for-17 from the free-throw line in the game.

A Small School on a Big Stage

Grace College may not be a household name, but performances like this make sure everyone knows who they are. For a program from a small Christian college in Northern Indiana to make national headlines, this story will mean more than just a name in the record book.

Next up for the Lancers is a game at Cleary University in Lansing, Michigan. The next time Grace College is home is set for November 19th against Taylor.
