28. Brooklyn Nets (via Detroit and Minnesota) - Joshua Jefferson
- 2025-26 stats (Iowa State): 16.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 4.8 apg
After landing Julius Randle via trade, the Nets add another frontcourt piece in Jefferson, one of the top all-around players in all of college basketball. He may not have the highest ceiling, but in an ideal world, he projects as an effective rotation player whenever they’re ready to compete and win.
Grade: B
29. Sacramento Kings (via Cleveland and San Antonio) - Alex KarabanÂ
- 2025-26 stats (UConn): 13.2 ppg and 5.3 rpg
Karaban is a two-time national champion and one of the top stretch forwards in the NBA Draft. He pairs well with Domantas Sabonis in the frontcourt as well as their first pick, Darius Acuff. Karaban won’t change the world for Sacramento, but there’s nothing wrong with the winningest CBB player joining a constantly losing franchise.
Grade: AÂ
30. Phoenix Suns (via Dallas and OKC) - Koa Peat
- 2025-26 stats (Arizona): 14.1 ppg and 5.6 rpg
Again, @NBADraftMikeyV and I projected for over the past month that Koa Peat would go at or near the 30th pick. A solid flier with the last pick of the first round, good size and skill for a four. Has some kinks to iron out but I bet he’ll end up being a valuable pick. https://t.co/kOP1hMHReU

The Suns moved up in the draft to take a local guy, with Peat having an outstanding year at Arizona. He’s not much of a shooter, but he’s a great athlete with one of the highest ceilings after the lottery picks. For a Phoenix squad looking for high-end moves to truly compete in the Western Conference, Peat is a nice way to end the first round.
