It's been a busy offseason throughout ACC Basketball, with each team losing, keeping, and adding pieces to their respective rosters. Which of them did the best and who did the worst? Here's a grade given to each ACC program.
Boston College Eagles - C-
Following a rough 24-25 season for the Eagles, they looked to potentially make some splashes in the offseason and get the program going in the right direction. As of now it's not looking fantastic, they got great news that Donald Hands Jr. will be returning next season, and they have a few solid pieces coming in from the transfer portal as well as a few 3-star commits in the 2025 class. Outside of those pieces being added, it looks pretty rough; they lost some pretty significant players to the transfer portal, and Earl Grant hasn't shown many flashes of being a quality coach. It's looking like Boston College fans will be in for another long but short season.
California Golden Bears - C
After a disappointing season last year Cal was looking to build something this offseason. Starting with their high school recruits, there is really not much to talk about as they only have 2 commits this next season, Jovani Ruff, a 6-5 Guard from California and Semetri Carr, a 6-0 Guard who is also from California.
Cal has done most of their damage in the transfer portal, getting seven commits. Now, the downside is that they have lost nine players to the portal, including their two stars from last season in Andrej Stojakovic, who went off in the ACC Tournament with 66 points in just two games, and Jeremiah Wilkinson, who finished 2nd in ACC Freshman of the Year voting. The positives, though, are that they have some very solid commits coming in next season, including the likes of Chris Bell, a 6-7 Forward from Syracuse, Dai Dai Ames, a 6-1 Guard from Virginia, and John Camden, a 6-7 Forward from Delaware.
Overall the offseason hasn't been the best but for what the school had to work with it has been very far from a failure.
