SMU Mustangs - B-

This last season was SMU's first time being in the ACC and they well over performed expectations, finishing 24-11 after being projected to finish 13th in the preseason ACC standings. So far this offseason they've done a pretty solid job getting players through the portal and high school recruiting.

They have 3 incoming transfers as of now and only 2 players leaving. Their 3 commits include Sam Walters, a 6-10 Forward from Michigan, Corey Washington, a 6-5 Guard/Forward from Wichita St, and Jaron Pierre Jr, a 6-5 Guard from Jacksonville St. Those 3 players combined averaged 40.3 points per game with Jaron Pierre Jr averaging 21.6 last season.

SMU's high school recruiting class is also pretty strong bringing in three 4-stars and one 3-star. Jaden Toombs, a 6-9 Forward from Dallas Texas highlights their recruiting class coming in as the 30th ranked player in the country according to 247 sports. They are also bring in Nigel Walls, a 6-10 Forward from Houston Texas, Jermaine O'Neal Jr, a 6-5 Forward from Dallas Texas, and BJ Davis-Ray, a 6-6 Forward from California.

With the retention of some players from last season including starting guard Boopie Miller, SMU it poised to build off their success from last season and hopefully grab an NCAA Tournament bid next season.
