Virginia Cavaliers - B-

With the news of Tony Bennett retiring weeks before the season started no one knew how the season was gonna go. They would go on to have a very underwhelming season going 15-17 and finishing just 8th in the ACC.

Shortly after the season ended the news broke that they would be hiring VCU coach Ryan Odom, with what the coaching market looked like it was a splash of a hire. In Odom's first offseason, he is looking to bring the Cavaliers back to being one of the sport's powerhouses. So far in the portal, they have lost 11 players, which is almost their entire team from last year. The one positive is that they have got 7 commits comings to Charlottesville next season including the likes of Malik Thomas, a 6-5 Guard from San Francisco, Dallin Hall, a 6-4 Guard from BYU, Jacari White, a 6-3 Guard from North Dakota St, and Sam Lewis, a 6-6 Guard from Toledo.

They haven't done much in the high school recruitment scene but still have a few commits coming in. With 2 top 100 recruits coming in they look to play a big part in next seasons success, those players being Chance Malloy, a 5-9 Guard from Virginia and Silas Barksdale, a 6-8 Forward from Virginia. They only have 1 foreign commit as of now, that player being Johann Grunloh, a 6-11 Forward from Germany.

With the new coaching change and other assets coming in it looks like Virginia is most definitely set to improve from last year this upcoming season.
