Despite not sending a team to the Final Four, the 2025-26 ACC Basketball collective campaign deserves an “A” grade. Eight teams made the NCAA Tournament, the same as the prior two years combined. Multiple programs bounced back from bad seasons, while some of the league’s newcomers, such as Cal and Stanford, showed legitimate competitiveness.
There have been a ton of moves across the 18 ACC programs, with some teams definitely earning an “A” grade. Check out who those teams are, as well as which ones didn’t do as well.

What instantly gave the Eagles an A was the hiring of Luke Murray, a top-tier assistant coach who won two national titles at UConn. That immediately gave the program some needed momentum and it continued on the recruiting trail.
Williams was one of the top guards in the portal and should have an immediate impact, while Shelton and Zeigler are quality shooting guards. Benjamin was one of the top rebounders in the nation, while Furphy followed Murray over from the Huskies and should have a path to playing time as a former top-50 prospect.
This isn’t to say that Boston College will be making the NCAA Tournament next year. But this has been viewed as the worst high-major program in the country for the past few years. If nothing else, they have given fans and observers a reason to watch, explaining the high grade.
