Roster additions

  • Christian Bliss (16.7 ppg and 5.9 apg at Delaware)
  • Austin Maurer (7.2 ppg and 4.7 rpg at Seattle)
  • Aziz Olajuwon (4-star wing prospect)
  • Julius Price (4-star guard prospect)
  • Elias Obenyah (4-star guard prospect)

There was no bigger loser from the NBA Draft decisions than Stanford, losing Okorie to the pro ranks. That left the Cardinal with very little proven D-I talent until the recent pickup of Bliss, who is set to be the focal point of the team next year.

The bright side of this offseason was the team's talented recruiting class, including Olajuwon and Price. Considering that Okorie came out of nowhere as a freshman this past season, it’s possible one of them could do something similar to keep them competitive.

Ultimately, it’s hard to see how Stanford can be good in the middle of June unless multiple hidden gems emerge, regardless of how good Coach Kyle Smith is.
