The big news of the offseason was Coach Will Wade leaving the Wolfpack after one year to go back to LSU. Former NC State guard Justin Gainey has taken over, and after a slow start, he got things going with the program.
The most important thing that happened for NC State was being able to keep McNeil, the one rotation piece with eligibility left. Losing Able to rival UNC was a blow, but they replaced him with key guards such as Edmead, Hammond, and Adams.
There’s not a ton of depth in the frontcourt, but former Big West Defensive Player of the Year Evans is a capable starter. All things considered, for a program going on three head coaches in three years, they managed to create a competitive roster with postseason potential.
