● Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn (20.7 ppg and 2.5 apg at UNLV)
● Damarion Dennis (11.2 ppg and 3.2 rpg at Wyoming)
● Dakari Spear (4-star guard prospect)

Anderson was always expected to leave as an eventual NBA Draft pick, while Atwell didn’t have any eligibility left. But losing Watts and Petty to the transfer portal was a big blow. And while Bamgboye didn’t have the greatest impact for the team last year, his departure looms large, considering that they didn’t really replace him in the portal.

Yes, Toppin coming back is huge, but he will be coming off a season-ending injury and may not be 100% to start the 2026-27 campaign. There’s a huge need for Mosley to have a big impact inside.

In the end, the saving grace is the backcourt duo additions of Davis and Gibbs-Lawhorn, two of the top transfers in the Big 12. If they’re great, then Texas Tech should overcome the concerns throughout the rest of the roster.
