After a surprise trip to the NCAA Tournament, UCF had to rebuild its roster, with four double-digit scorers departing. Keeping Bol helped, as he can be a breakout big man in the Big 12. Abass, a former top-100 prospect, adds to the frontcourt depth.
Of the additions to the roster, the most notable is Johnson. He played little two years ago in his first go-around with the Knights, but became one of the top scorers in the country in the WAC, including dropping 46 points in a game against Baylor last season.
To be fair, relying on mid-major transfers worked for newly extended Coach Johnny Dawkins last year. But there are more question marks this time around, including whether they can rely on Johnson to lead them into contention next year.
