  • 2025-26 record: 10-22 (2-16)

● Don McHenry (17 ppg and 2.8 rpg)
● Keanu Dawes (12.5 ppg and 8.8 rpg)
● Seydou Traore (9.0 ppg and 3.4 rpg)
● Jacbo Patrick (7.2 ppg and 1.4 rpg)

Roster returnees

● Lucas Langrita (2.6 ppg and 1.2 rpg)
● Babacar Faye (15.2 ppg and 7.8 rpg at Western Kentucky)

Roster additions

● Jackson Holcombe (16 ppg and 7.0 rpg at Utah Valley)
● TJ Burch (12.4 ppg and 3.6 apg at Wright State)
● Taison Chatman (4.3 ppg and 1.2 rpg at Ohio State)
● Malek Gomma (8.0 ppg and 6.9 rpg at Weber State)
● Zati Loubaki (JUCO transfer forward)

After finishing last in the Big 12, the Utes saw a roster exodus, losing both Brown and Dawes to the portal. On paper, it’s hard to say that they got better this offseason, even though Holcombe and Burch are two good perimeter players who should help shore up the defense.

After being in a crowded backcourt at Ohio State, Chatman could be a breakout candidate to watch. Keeping Faye, who missed all of last season due to an offseason injury, is an underrated good move for the program as well.

In the end, Utah has a giant hole to climb out of, and its ability to get key players is handicapped. Still, the reality is that they’re no closer to competing in the Big 12, which is all that matters.

Grade: D+
