Hiring Coach Randy Bennett from Saint Mary’s was a big coup for the Sun Devils, after reportedly being linked to him for years. In a full roster rebuild, he brought with him Murauskas, who was an all-league player in the WCC after starting his career at UCLA.
Other notable newcomers to Arizona State include Defty, one of the top post-scorers in the Patriot League, while Shaw and Innocenti are key wings to watch. There’s also Foxwell, a stud freshman scorer from Portland, set to run the offense. Croy also followed Coach Bennett after originally committing to the Gaels months ago.
The lack of proven high-major talent makes for a potentially rocky first year as they all transition to the Big 12. But Bennett has a strong track record of overachieving and competing with the top teams, giving the Sun Devils new hope to work with.
