Losing key wings Carr and Yessoufou early would normally be tough blows but considering how bad things went in league play, a full rebuild makes sense for Baylor. They’ll be building around the Mingo brothers, with Kayden coming off a strong first year at Penn State, while Dylan is a five-star prospect who picked the Bears after de-committing from North Carolina this offseason after the coaching change.

Baylor hopes that Decker is the next great wing for the program. He shot over 45% from deep at Liberty and is a proven scorer. Celiscar is a skilled forward from Yale, while Bobo Bobo returns after missing all of last year with an injury and was one of the top shot-blockers in the Big South two years ago at High Point.

Relying on the Mingo brothers to provide most of the scoring production comes with a risk, but the hope is that they’re much more competitive on both ends of the floor, especially with an increase in the interior defense. It might not be enough to compete for a Big 12 Basketball title, but it should be good enough to get back to the Big Dance.
