The Buffaloes were more competitive than people realized last year, but now, they’re set to rebuild once again. Losing three double-digit starters to the portal, led by freshman star Johnson, was a massive blow to the team. Keeping Hargress was one bright spot, as he’ll be the lead guard on the roster.
Keeping the other freshmen guards, including Sandas, Holland, and Inman, was good, as each is set for a larger role in the offense. The addition of Neely, one of the top rebounders in the country, was a good addition, as long as the 6’7 forward can transition to Big 12 play.
Overall, Colorado lost more than they brought in and had a chance to build off of some positive notes. Coach Tad Boyle is good enough to keep them competitive, but it’s hard to envision them being in the postseason mix.
