As expected, Kansas lost Peterson to the NBA Draft as the No. 2 overall pick. But losing both Bidunga, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, and Tiller, a key freshman rotation piece, to the portal was significant.
Yes, they brought in Stokes, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 class and the clear favorite to be the first pick in next year’s draft. But Reeves is currently recovering from offseason surgery, leaving Dawes and returning Mbiya as the veterans to watch.
Kinney is a five-star prospect in his own right and joins Blyden Jr. in the new-look backcourt. If Parker’s scoring can translate back into the high-major level, then the Jayhawks could have a chance of being better than they were this past year. But considering the standards, it does feel as if Kansas could’ve done better.
