Swain going to the NBA Draft wasn’t a surprise, while both lead guards were seniors. The Longhorns did lose a few role players to the portal, but the most important roster move went in their favor: the return of leading scorer and rebounder Vokietatis.
Supporting Vokietatis inside at the four-spot is Punch, who led TCU in both scoring and rebounding himself. Freeman adds frontcourt depth, while Evans could be a breakout player to watch after some good moments at Tennessee.
Another huge move Texas made was adding Johnson, who led Colorado in scoring as a freshman. There’s a good chance he ends up being better than both Pope and Mark as a lead guard, and with Punch being a major upgrade at the four-spot, it’s hard to see what the weakness will be on this roster next season.
