We are back with a look at the worst teams in college basketball. While each of these programs technically still has hope with conference tournaments less than a month away, the real question is whether that hope is realistic.
Can any of these teams actually string together a run, or are they simply playing out the string? Over the past week, no team fully escaped the Bottom 10, keeping the same group intact. There was some minor movement, though, as a couple of teams managed to pick up rare wins. Without further ado, here are the worst Division I basketball teams in the country right now.
Bottom 10 Rankings
Without further ado...
356. South Carolina State Bulldogs (5-16)
The Bulldogs are trying to claw their way out of the Bottom 10. South Carolina State has won back-to-back games, beating Mid-Atlantic Christian by six and Delaware State by six. That gives them three wins in their last four games and a respectable 3-2 mark in conference play. They are worth monitoring going forward. Up next is a home game against North Carolina Central on Saturday, followed by another home matchup with Maryland Eastern Shore.
357. Western Illinois Leathernecks (4-17)
It has been a rough season in Macomb. Western Illinois sits at 0-10 in Ohio Valley Conference play and is 4-17 overall. The Leathernecks dropped from No. 356 to No. 357 this week and are coming off a 32-point road loss at Southern Indiana. They return home Thursday to face Southeast Missouri before hosting UT Martin on Saturday.
358. UL Monroe Warhawks (3-18)
Out of the Sun Belt, the Warhawks remain stuck at the bottom of the standings. They are still searching for their first conference win and sit at 3-18 overall, with just one Division I victory all season against Mississippi Valley State. UL Monroe allowed 115 points at Marshall and followed that by scoring just 43 against Appalachian State. They host Georgia Southern on Thursday and Coastal Carolina on Saturday.
359. Binghamton Bearcats (4-18)
Moved from No. 358.
Binghamton continues to slide, now riding a seven-game losing streak. Their most recent loss came on the road at Maine, where they fell by 16 points. After back-to-back road games, the Bearcats return home Thursday to take on Bryant. Jeremiah Quigley leads the team with 13.1 points per game while also averaging 6.3 assists. As a team, Binghamton is scoring 67.3 points per game.
360. Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs (3-17)
Gardner-Webb actually moved up after finally breaking through. The Runnin’ Bulldogs earned a 67-65 win over USC Upstate, snapping a seven-game losing streak and marking their first Division I win of the season. They are now tied with Upstate at 1-6 in league play. Gardner-Webb hits the road next, facing UNC Asheville on Thursday and Charleston Southern on Saturday.
361. Rider Broncs (2-17)
Moved from No. 360.
Rider has dropped three straight games, including a 10-point loss at Mount St. Mary’s. Their last win came at home against Iona. The Broncs are 1-9 in MAAC play and sit at the bottom of the standings, a game behind Niagara. Flash Burton leads the team with 13.6 points per game and adds 2.8 assists. Rider travels to Manhattan on Friday before hosting Saint Peter’s on Sunday.
362. Kansas City Roos (4-17)
The struggles continue for Kansas City, which fell from No. 361 to No. 362. The Roos have lost five straight games, most recently a 17-point home loss to Omaha following two blowout road defeats. They host Denver on Wednesday before traveling to St. Thomas on Sunday. Kansas City currently sits just ahead of Oral Roberts, which remains winless in conference play.
363. Coppin State Eagles (3-19)
Coppin State remains firmly in the Bottom 10 at 3-19 overall. The Eagles are 1-4 in conference play, with their lone win coming in a narrow 53-51 victory over Delaware State. Since then, they have dropped four straight games and are averaging just 65.5 points per game. After a postponed matchup with Howard, Coppin State will host Morgan State on Saturday, then welcome Delaware State for a rematch.
364. Chicago State Cougars (2-19)
Dropped from No. 362.
Chicago State took another step back after a narrow loss to Mercyhurst, their 10th straight defeat. Offense continues to be an issue, as the Cougars are averaging just 65 points per game and have failed to reach 70 points in four straight contests. They host Saint Francis next, a team that beat them 81-60 earlier this month, before a rematch with Mercyhurst on Saturday.
365. Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils (1-19)
Things continue to go from bad to worse for Mississippi Valley State. The Delta Devils have lost 18 straight games, with their most recent defeat coming at home against Florida A&M, where they scored just 48 points. On the season, they are averaging 62.8 points per game while allowing more than 86. They travel to Southern on Wednesday before returning home for three straight games.

Long Season
There you have it. These are the teams currently stuck at the bottom of Division I college basketball, with only a few showing signs of life as conference play grinds on. With tournaments approaching, there is still time for a surprise or two, but for now, these programs have the longest road ahead. Are we missing anyone, or is this Bottom 10 right on the mark? Enjoy the rest of the season.
