In the blink of an eye the college basketball season now only has a few more weeks until Selection Sunday and the beginning of the postseason. We’ve seen action for more than three months in this terrific sport, which teams in every corner of the nation jockeying for position in their conferences and in the national standing. Obviously, everyone has their eye on the NCAA Tournament.

We’re not there yet though, even with bracketology and Tournament selection already on many peoples’ minds. Each league still has at least a couple more weeks of conference play, meaning a lot can still happen in these races. The college basketball postseason is one of the most exciting displays in all of sports and we’re certainly in for another spectacle this season.

Recent weeks have revealed a bevy of incredibly talented teams in the SEC, though there’s still a lot else happening in this sport. Some major players have emerged in the Big 12 and Big Ten, while former conference mates in the Pac-12 are having mixed results in their new leagues. We didn’t even mention what’s become another new flurry of mid-major standouts, though those kinds of teams rarely get the same amount of media or national attention.

The Big Dance isn’t here quiet yet, but it is time to update our Top 25 rankings after this week’s games. Each week presents new challenges as teams win and lose on a daily basis, fighting to assert themselves as one of the best teams in the nation. What we consider the elite teams this season have really asserted with their great play, though there’s a lot to like about each of these ranked teams. We’ll dive right into this week’s deep dives, knowing full well that there’s postseason potential for all of these programs.
