Josh Schertz made his decision clear and then explained why.

After pulling his name from the NC State Wolfpack men's basketball coaching search, Schertz issued a simple message. He is staying with Saint Louis Billikens because he believes in what is being built.

Schertz acknowledged he had opportunities to leave, but made it clear his focus is on building a program, not chasing the next job. He pointed to the culture, the roster, and the direction Saint Louis is heading after a 29-6 season and NCAA Tournament appearance.

The statement reinforces what his recent contract extension already suggested. He is committed.

For Saint Louis, that stability matters. For NC State, the search continues. The search is going on due to Will Wade heading back to LSU before the Tigers position was officially open.

The move was done following just one season wiht the Wolf Pack.

This is just one of many offseason moves from head coaches in college basketball.

All of this is going on while the action on the court remains with the final four coming up Saturday in Indianapolis. The week before the action will provide plenty of opportunities for coaches to make moves across he country.

We will ee what comes next in the ongoing circus.
