Potential starting five

No team in the country returns a better threesome than Dajuan Harris, Jr., KJ Adams, Jr., and Hunter Dickinson of Kansas. The Jayhawks, with that threesome and a couple of to-50 recruits, could’ve been quite satisfied heading into this season, but they were not. They brought in six transfers, with four combining for over 66 points per game. Expect the other two starters for the Jayhawks to come from the foursome of AJ Storr, Zeke Mayo, Rylen Griffen, and David Coit.

Storr should secure one of those spots next to Harris, Jr. thanks to his ability to work in the midrange which should also open some things even more in the paint for Dickinson. For me, the last starting spot should go to Griffen for several reasons. With Kansas’ issues shooting the ball at times last season, they could use Griffen’s 3-and-D ability. The other possibility for me is Mayo, but I like his ability to play both on and off the ball as a better asset coming off the bench for the Jayhawks.

No matter which two they choose with the returning trio, scoring shouldn’t be an issue (even if shooting might be) for Kansas. It would be a shock if the 75 points per game they scored weren’t a distant memory by Christmas time this season.
