Much like they hope Griffen cures some of their shooting woes, Self hit the portal to make sure depth would not be a problem in Lawrence this year. Zeke Mayo is a luxury coming off the bench after 18.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists at South Dakota State. He shot 39% from deep, something Kansas hopes he can sustain, but he also shot over 52% inside the arc and 82% from the line. Coit, who was a late add in the process, has some similarities to Mayo in that he shot 50% inside the arc and hit nearly 89% of his free throws.

The depth doesn’t stop there; Shakeel Moore is another tested veteran who can handle the ball and comes over from Mississippi State. The backcourt could have been even deeper, but sophomore Elmarko Jackson will miss the season due to an injury. When looking at the frontcourt, that depth is highlighted by the two highly touted recruits. Flory Bidunga is a 6-9 long forward who should see some minutes but needs to learn behind Dickinson. Rakease Passmore may see more action as a freshman; the 6-5 forward is a pure athlete who flourishes in transition. Zach Clemence returns after a redshirt year. The overall depth has improved, but there are many questions behind Dickinson and Adams, Jr..
