Kansas basketball transfer portal departures, where are they now?

Where did the five Kansas program transfers early this offseason in the spring portal window end up going into the 2025-26 college hoops season this fall?

The process of retooling the young roster is still ongoing for head coach David Self and the Kansas basketball program going into this summer in the 2025 offseason in the Big 12. Highlighted by Illinois transfer shooting guard/wing Tre White, Kansas has now added three immediate impact transfers since the start of the spring portal window early this offseason.

David Coit Jr., G

Senior guard David Coit Jr. entered the transfer portal for the second time in as many offseasons. The New Jersey native guard averaged five points per game, 1.5 rebounds, and one assist one 48 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent from beyond the arc for the Jayhawks this past season in the Big 12.

Coit is going back home to the East Coast to play the final year of his eligibility in college hoops with the Maryland Terrapins in the Big Ten.

Rakease Passmore, G

Former high-four-star recruit from Asheville (NC) Combine Academy, freshman shooting guard Rakease Passmore, entered the spring transfer portal window after playing one season at Kansas. Passmore had a limited role in Kansas's backcourt/wing rotation this past season during his freshman campaign, averaging 5.0 minutes on the floor over roughly two dozen games played.

Passmore is joining Coit in College Park with the Terps in the Big Ten going into the 2025-26 season.

Zach Clemence, PF

This is the second time in the last three offseasons that senior forward Zach Clemence put his name in the transfer portal from Kansas. Clemence had originally committed to UCSB out on the West Coast before returning to the Jayhawks for his sophomore campaign in the 2023 offseason.

After spending multiple years in the Kansas program in Lawrence under Self, Clemence is returning home to the state of Texas to play the final year of his eligibility in college with the Aggies in College Station.

Rylan Griffen, F

Dallas, TX, native and former high-four-star recruit, Rylan Griffen, is on the move via the transfer portal for the second offseason in a row. Griffen played one season at Kansas after starting his collegiate career at Alabama in 2022. He started 20 games in Kansas's forward rotation, averaging just over six points per game and two rebounds in the Big 12 this past season for the Jayhawks.

Griffen and Clemence will both play the final year of their eligibility in college hoops at Texas A&M in the Lone Star State this upcoming season in the SEC.

AJ Storr, F

Senior guard AJ Storr will play for the fourth school in as many offseasons after transferring from the Jayhawks early this offseason. Storr averaged six points per game, two rebounds, and one assist in 34 games played for the Jayhawks in the Big 12 this past season.

Kansas's highest profile transfer departure in the spring portal window early this offseason, Storr will play the final year of his eligibility in college in the SEC at Ole Miss under head coach Chris Beard.
