The Ohio Valley Conference quarterfinal round will be played in Evansville Thursday. Eighth seeded Eastern Illinois and sixth seeded Lindenwood advanced from Wednesday's 'play-in' games to take on the third and fourth seeded teams.
EIU (13-19) defeated Southern Illinois Edwardsville (19-13) 77-71 in an overtime affair. Zion Fruster scored 23 points and Kooper Jacobi added 18. Terry McMorris accumulated a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double.
Tyler King led the Cougars with 19 points and OVC defensive player of the year Arnas Sakenis recorded a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double. Sakenis blocked three shots, extending his SIUE all-time career record to 160.
Lindenwood (18-14) defeated Little Rock (12-20) by the score of 72-62. While the OVC's leading scorer Anais Futrell was limited to four points and appeared hobbled throughout the game, LU had three players record double-doubles. Milos Nenadic, Jadis Jones and Dontrez Williams turned in the rare accomplishment.
The 18 Lindenwood victories are the most in the Lions' Division 1 existence.
