McNeese is in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, currently taking on the 4-seeded Purdue Boilermakers, also known as the runner from last year's National Championship. As if the Cowboys don't have enough on their hands trying to handle Purdue's attacking offense and big men in the paint, their uniforms seem to be falling apart.
Guard Christian Shumate had to have a wardrobe change just minutes into the game after his jersey was completely ripped in half, and even had to wear a blank No. 22 jersey while a manager went and got his spare No. 24 jersey.
No, it was not new star manager Amir Khan who ran and got the jersey, but another unsung hero of the game who showed his speed and athleticism in grabbing the new jersey.

Shumate didn't miss a beat, though, even with his jersey being ripped to shreds. This is not the first time we have had a wardrobe malfunction in the game, as Norfolk State had one of their players actually lose his shorts during a play against the 1-seeded Florida Gators.
McNeese made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with excellent play against the Clemson Tigers in the first round, upsetting the 5-seed. The Cowboys were one of three double-digit seeds to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Cowboys certainly have their hands full with everything Purdue is throwing at them, but getting the ball into Shutmate and teammate Quadir Copeland's hands is a must for this team to find another upset int heir back pocket.
This isn't the only things that has McNeese making headlines as their student manager Amir Khan as made waves in the NCAA Tournament after signing NIL deals and bringing all the swag to the team's pregame and post game celebrations.
