Missouri, Villanova, Ohio State and more college basketball picks for big games tomorrow

Tuesday was loaded with 15 ranked teams. Wednesday is lighter with only 5 ranked teams, but one is on upset alert and the rest should win going away. Missouri, Villanova, and Ohio State are all looking to pick up huge wins on a fantastic slate of college basketball.

After a loaded Tuesday slate of games that saw 15 ranked teams the Wednesday slate is much lighter with only 5 ranked teams playing and all of them are expected to win their games. There are huge games in the Big Ten. Those games have meaning for the NCAA Tournament and for those teams trying to extend their season and make the Big Ten conference tournament. Here is a look at some of the biggest games on Wednesday.

No. 9 St. John’s at Villanova prediction and pick

The Red Storm enter the game in sole possession of first place and a virtual lock to make the NCAA tournament. It has been quite a turnaround for St. John’s in year 2 of the Rick Pitino era. St. John’s travels to Philadelphia to face a Villanova team who has been playing a lot better and is expecting to make February run themselves. The Wildcats are far from the tournament but are now trying to play spoiler. St. John’s enters play with a 1 game lead against Creighton and on a 10 game winning streak. Every game is important for their hopes of winning the Big East Regular season.

Villanova head coach Kyle Neptune finds himself on the hot seat. I has been a chore at Villanova since Jay Wright retired and the Wildcats are not making NCAA tournaments anymore. A win against the Red Storm would be three in a row and would have Philly fans excited again. Villanova is one of those sneaky teams who just might win enough to get themselves back on the bubble.

Washington at Ohio State prediction and pick

I love head coach Danny Sprinkle and think he is going to bring the Huskies program back to prominence. This has been a tough year if you only look at the record. If you have watched Washington play you realize that while they are outmanned, they are very well coached, and have lost many games by only 1 or 2 possessions. The Huskies are coming off a win against Northwestern to propel them out of last place in the Big Ten. Two more wins should get the job done for the Huskies to make the Big Ten Tournament.

Ohio State is firmly on the bubble, and they are coming off an emotional loss at Nebraska. It was a game the Buckeyes had a lead going into the half and had an 8 point lead early in the second half before it evaporated. Star guard Bruce Thornton was not good against Nebraska. The Buckeyes struggled to rebound the ball and had a hard time getting anyone else besides Micah Parrish going in Lincoln. The Buckeyes desperately need this game, but Washington has nothing to lose.

Oklahoma at No. 21 Missouri prediction and pick

The Sooners started the year 13-0 and since that point have gone 3-7 in SEC play. Oklahoma finds themselves firmly on the bubble with more questions than answers at this point. They are struggling to even stay in games in the SEC. All of the games the Sooners have played in February have had very lopsided results. They won a game by 20, lost by 28, and lost by 18. This one could be another lopsided result.

Missouri is a surprise team of the season. Just as a refresher the Tigers went 0-20 in the SEC last season and no one expected much of them. Missouri enters play against Oklahoma as one of the better teams in the SEC and a lock to make the NCAA tournament. It has been a tremendous turnaround for head coach Dennis Gates. The Tigers are 15-1 at home, Oklahoma is 1-4 on the road, its simple really.

Those are the three best games of the day and the ones with the most intrigue. As always here are the rest of the games for February 11, 2025.
