4. Duke (2-0)

Another year and another seemingly generational class of recruits have landed in Durham hoping to make their own impact on college basketball. With Cooper Flagg and others gone from last season, the Blue Devils are leaning heavily on the Boozer twins and some returning talent to get the Blue Devils back to the promised land fresh off a Final Four run last season.

Duke took on Texas and trailed at the half, but turned on the jets in the second half and knocked off the Longhorns 75-60 back on Tuesday night. Isaiah Evans starred with 23 points while Cameron Boozer had 15 points and 13 rebounds in his college debut. Saturday’s showing was outstanding as well, with Duke winning 95-54 over Western Carolina. Boozer again showed out with 25 points and 8 rebounds while brother Cayden added 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists off the bench.

The Blue Devils notched a nice win over a solid SEC team and now settle into a stretch where they can fiddle more with their lineups. From what we saw this week and in the preseason, Cameron Boozer is the real deal and is the player to watch this season in Durham, but he’s far from the only talented piece that Jon Scheyer has in town. It’s a rare road game at Army before facing Indiana State on Friday, though both games should be easy Duke victories in the end.
