17. Arkansas (4-1)

The offseason hiring of John Calipari was quite the move at Arkansas. It’s a move that this program is hoping pays off in a major way after a disappointing season last year. Overall, this Razorbacks program has been in great shape, though Calipari certainly looks to reshape the future for Arkansas basketball. Ignoring a close loss to Baylor two weeks ago, he’s done a decent job in the opening weeks.

While it may have been closer than expected, Arkansas handled Pacific in a 92-71 win back on Monday night. Adou Theiro had 23 points while Boogie Fland put up 20 points. A strong first half on Friday night helped the Razorbacks earn a 79-67 win over Little Rock, another relatively easy game at home. The same two starters were heroes again, with Theiro again scoring 23 points while Fland had 21 in the win.

While things may still be coming together for the Razorbacks, Calipari is already playing a lineup that’s just 7 players deep. These players are already accumulating major minutes and the depth on this team is certainly going to be tested. After an easy game with Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday, the Razorbacks get another chance for a nice win, heading to Kansas City for a Thanksgiving matchup with Illinois.
