2. Kansas (7-0)

The Jayhawks entered this season with heightened expectations and have lived up to that billing through the first four weeks of games. They beat both North Carolina and Michigan State early on and have controlled games for the most part with their veteran talent, both old and new. We likely haven’t even seen this Kansas squad playing at their best, though they were good enough for another high quality win this week.

On Tuesday, the Jayhawks took on Duke in Las Vegas and held onto a 75-72 victory over the Blue Devils. Dajuan Harris Jr. had 14 points and 9 assists as the Jayhawks scored yet another standout win in November. Still in Vegas a few days later, Kansas made easy work of previously unbeaten Furman, winning 86-51 to complete the week. KJ Adams Jr. had 22 points and 6 rebounds in a leading effort.

We didn’t even mention Hunter Dickinson, the all-star center, or the transfer additions that each are playing a role this season. While the long-range shots aren’t always falling with consistency, this Kansas team is a machine that can win games in many ways and shows no signs of slowing down. Next week’s test is their first true road game, playing at a Creighton team on a current backslide as part of the Big 12/Big East Battle.
