4. Alabama (15-3)
Incredible offensive performances have dotted this season for the Crimson Tide, who have turned triple-digit scorers into a near-regular occurrence. The Crimson Tide are coming off a Final Four run last season and may be even better on offense this season, leaning heavily on Mark Sears and a talented rotation, but could they keep this length winning streak going into this week?
A major surprise saw that streak end, as Alabama’s worse offensive effort of the year came in a 74-64 home loss against Ole Miss. Aden Holloway led the scoring with 15 points off the bench on a night where the 3-pointers just weren’t falling. Things went much more smoothly on Saturday, as Alabama really delivered in a 102-97 road win at Kentucky. Grant Nelson had 25 points and 11 rebounds, Sears had 24 points and 9 assists, and the Crimson Tide offense bounced back in a major way against a Top 10 opponent.
That dreadful offensive showing was followed up by even more fireworks this weekend for Alabama. This team isn’t perfect and has had troubles despite this brilliant start, but you won’t find a better offense in the nation, fresh off their fifth 100-point game already this season. There are no off days in the SEC, though the Crimson Tide have perhaps their easiest week of league play hosting Vanderbilt and LSU.
