15. Gonzaga (14-4)
After a few rocky results, Gonzaga has stabilized now that WCC play has begun and that’s not really a huge surprise. The Bulldogs had some awesome performances and some tough ones but that offense has been a menace yet again. This team is regularly involved in big games and now is firmly in the part of the season where they can relax; but is life that easy in this version of the WCC?
The Bulldogs kept a hot start going with a 93-80 win over San Diego on Wednesday, albeit a result that was much closer than expected. Ben Gregg excelled with 23 points while Graham Ike had 15 points and 19 rebounds. Gonzaga won again at home this weekend, winning 88-75 over Washington State with another decent performance. Ike scored 21, Nolan Hickman had 19 points and 7 rebounds, and the Bulldogs shot 56% from the field in another win.
We know that the Bulldogs are capable of great offense and are going to score in all of these games, though giving up 80 to the Toreros this week was a bit unexpected. This team has the talent to be just as successful as recent years and should keep winning in league play, but some of these performances are a little more alarming than others. Regardless, Gonzaga keeps rocking on and get a nice trip to Oregon State next week.
