11. Oklahoma (10-0)

Porter Moser’s first three years in Norman weren’t exactly fulfilling for anyone, missing the Big Dance with some underwhelming results. Year four is certainly starting in a much different direction, with a Battle 4 Atlantis championships and an unblemished start to the season. Clearly, that hot start continued into this week.

Oklahoma’s tenth win came at home and it was just as sweet as any of their previous performances. They matched up against rival Oklahoma State, now in a different league, and got an 80-65 victory that really wasn’t even that close. All five starters played well and hit double-figures, highlighted by Sam Godwin with a 20-point, 14-rebound effort. Jeremiah Fears also stood out with 17 points and 5 assists while Kobe Elvis made five 3-pointers.

When you look into the metrics, Oklahoma isn’t exactly killing it but who cares when you’re winning games? The offense has done more than enough time and time again and the defense has looked markedly better in recent weeks for the most part. Next Wednesday’s Michigan matchup will be must-watch television, though obviously conference play will tell us a lot more about if this team can be a real contender.
