Roster additions
- Jaquan Johnson (16.9 ppg and 3.6 apg at Bradley)
- Ryan Prather Jr. (15.7 ppg and 3.6 apg at Robert Morris)
- Leon Bond (11.9 ppg and 4.7 rpg at Northern Iowa)
- Tre Singleton (7.6 ppg and 4.8 rpg at Northwestern)
- Taj Manning (4.2 ppg and 5.1 rpg at Kansas State)
The Cylones knew that Momcilovic wasn’t going to return to them, but his departure still stings. His shooting replacement is Prather, who also showed he can be a key distributor at RMU. Bond, Singleton, and Manning are all athletic and physical forwards, joining Buchanan on the interior.
There are high expectations for Toure and Batemon to have breakout campaigns as sophomores in larger roles. Johnson, who was the MVC Defensive Player of the Year at Bradley, looks to replace Lipsey as the lead point guard for the team. The defense should remain top-tier, while the pressure will be on the returning guards to provide a good portion of the scoring.
