Roster returnees

  • Adrian Wooley (8.7 ppg and 3.9 rpg)

Roster additions

  • Jackson Shelstad (15.6 ppg and 4.9 apg at Oregon)
  • Flory Bidunga (13.3 ppg and 9.0 rpg at Kansas)
  • De’Shayne Montgomery (13.4 ppg and 4.0 rpg at Dayton)
  • Alvaro Folguerias (8.4 ppg and 3.6 rpg at Iowa)
  • Karter Knox (8.1 ppg and 4.5 rpg at Arkansas)
  • Gabe Dynes (2.9 ppg and 2.3 rpg at USC)
  • Obinna Ekezie Jr. (5-star center prospect)
  • Boyuan Zhang (4-star wing prospect)
  • Isaac Ellis (3-star guard prospect)

Despite losing out on the Momcilovic sweepstakes, Louisville still has a roster more than capable of making a deep run in August. That does put more pressure on forwards Folguerias and Knox to excel, but they should fit well on the roster. They have some of the best center depth in the country, led by Big 12 Defensive POY center Bidunga, while Dynes is a 7’3 shot-blocker and Ekezie is a reclassified top-40 big man.

The key to the Cardinals will be the health of Shelstad, who has shown the ability to be one of the best point guards in the nation. Montgomery didn’t produce much his last time at the high-major ranks (Georgia), but the hope is that his time at Dayton will allow him to be a double-digit contributor this time around.
