While not official, Michigan is very likely to be without both Mara and Johnson, two projected first-round picks in the NBA Draft. Even without them and Lendeborg, the frontcourt should be one of the best in college basketball once again. Thiam and Estrella are two of the best interior defenders in the nation, while Costello and Cosby are both top-50 prospects to give them more depth.
McKenney showed signs of being a star and will be the breakout candidate to watch, while Cadeau returns to run the offense yet again. If 5-star guard McCoy is as good as advertised, Michigan’s depth and overall talent will make them the clear Big Ten Basketball favorite once again.
With the news that head coach Dusty May is taking the Dallas Mavericks job, assistant and former Oklahoma State HC Mike Boynton is now leading the program. The drop-off at head coach will cause the Wolverines to fall some spots, but they’re still a top-10 roster overall.
