16. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Likely departures

  • Donovan Atwell (13.5 ppg and 3.2 rpg)
  • LeJuan Watts (11.8 ppg and 6.0 rpg)
  • Tyeree Bryan (3.5 ppg and 2.5 rpg)

Likely returnees

  • Jaylen Petty (9.9 ppg and 2.2 apg)
  • Luke Bamgboye (4.5 ppg and 3.4 rpg)
  • Josiah Moseley (5.5 ppg and 3.6 rpg)

Key decisions to watch

  • JT Toppin (21.8 ppg and 10.8 rpg)
  • Christian Anderson (18.5 ppg and 7.4 apg)

The season-ending ACL injury to Toppin not only effectively ended Texas Tech’s season but also raised a massive question about what he and the team will do next year. The odds of him being ready to open the 2026-27 season are slim, but you have to bring back a 20 and 10 player, assuming he doesn’t go pro.

There’s also Anderson, an All-American player and one of the best guards in the country. His projected NBA Draft placement is around 15-25, so it’s a real 50/50 decision for the sophomore guard whether to go pro or not.

Replacing the outgoing wings is a question, but there’s plenty of hype surrounding Petty to be a breakout star of his own next year, with or without Anderson in the backcourt. Plus, top-50 guard commit DaKari Spear will be a part of the rotation next year.
