11. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Likely departures

  • Rienk Mast (13.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg, and 3.1 apg)
  • Jamarques Lawrence (9.8 ppg and 3.8 apg)
  • Sam Hoiberg (9.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, and 4.5 apg)

Likely returnees

  • Pryce Sandford (18.1 ppg and 4.9 rpg)
  • Braden Frager (11.8 ppg and 3.8 rpg)
  • Berke Buyuktuncel (6.5 ppg and 5.6 rpg)
  • Cale Jacobsen (4.6 ppg and 2.9 rpg)

It was a historical season for the Cornhuskers, winning their first-ever NCAA Tournament game and making the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history. Despite losing a trio of starters, including the versatile Mast, there’s plenty of talent left over to keep the program in Big Ten contention.

They’ll be led by Sandfort, who led the team in scoring and shot 42% from deep on nearly nine attempts a game. Frager had a strong freshman campaign and could be a breakout candidate, while Buyuktuncel and Ugnius Jarsevicus, who played just one game this past season, provide good frontcourt depth.

As a sign of the program’s improvement, Nebraska also has a pair of top-100 wings joining them for next season in Colin Rice and Jacob Lanier, both four-star prospects.
