25. BYU Cougars

Likely departures

  • AJ Dybantsa (25.5 ppg and 6.8 rpg)
  • Richie Saunders (18 ppg and 5.8 rpg)
  • Keba Keita (6.2 ppg and 7.2 rpg)

Likely returnees

  • Robert Wright (18.1 ppg and 4.6 apg)
  • Kennard Davis (8.5 ppg and 2.7 rpg)
  • Aleksej Kostic (4.4 ppg and 0.9 rpg)
  • Dawson Baker (7.5 ppg and 1.7 rpg in 6 games)

BYU won’t have the nation’s leading scorer Dybantsa going forward, with him being a likely top-3 pick in the NBA Draft. But is there enough to feel hopeful about in 2026-27? It’ll come down to the immediate impact of 5-star wing prospect, Bruce Branch III, who reclassified to play next year after committing to BYU.

The Cougars will also have Wright, one of the best scoring guards in the country, as the next focal point of the offense. Davis had his struggles but could thrive in a new role for BYU in his second year with the program, while Dawson Baker, who missed most of last season with an injury, will be back and is known for being one of the best pure shooters in the nation.

Keep an eye out for KJ Perry, one of the top JUCO players in the 2026 class, to have an impact on the perimeter as well.
