7. Michigan State Spartans

Likely departures

  • Jaxon Kohler (12.5 ppg and 8.9 rpg)
  • Carson Cooper (11.1 ppg and 7.1 rpg)
  • Trey Fort (4.2 ppg and 1.3 rpg)

Likely returnees

  • Jeremy Fears (15.2 ppg and 9.4 apg)
  • Coen Carr (12 ppg and 5.4 rpg)
  • Kur Teng (7.3 ppg and 2.0 rpg)
  • Jordan Scott (5.8 ppg and 3.1 rpg)
  • Cameron Ward (5.1 ppg and 4.2 rpg)
  • Divine Ugochukwu (5.1 ppg and 1.5 apg)
  • Kaleb Glenn (12.6 ppg and 4.8 rpg at FAU in 2024-25)

Kohler and Cooper were two of the more underrated players in college basketball, doing everything Michigan State needed on both ends. Losing 16 rpg and the interior defense is blow for the Spartans, and there will be pressure on 7’0 freshman center and top-30 prospect Ethan Taylor to come in and provide an immediate impact. He’s part of a four-game group of incoming freshmen for the team, currently a top-5 class overall.

The backcourt for the Spartans is in great shape, led by Fears. He’s set to be the top returning point guard and the early favorite for 2027 Big Ten Player of the Year. Teng, Scott, and Ward should all take leaps as sophomores, while Glenn, a 6’7 wing forward who missed all of this past season with an ACL injury last offseason, is someone who should give them more offensive production.
