2. Florida Gators

Likely departures

  • Xaivian Lee (11.6 ppg and 4.2 apg)

Likely returnees

  • Boogie Fland (11.6 ppg and 3.5 apg)
  • Urban Klavzar (9.6 ppg and 1.3 apg)
  • Isaiah Brown (5.5 ppg and 2.5 rpg)

Decisions to watch

  • Thomas Haugh (17.1 ppg and 6.1 rpg)
  • Alex Condon (15.1 ppg and 7.5 rpg)
  • Reuben Chinyelu (10.9 ppg and 11.2 rpg)

The Gators' backcourt situation has more or less been solved, with both Fland and SEC 6th Man of the Year Klavzar already announcing their intentions to return. They still will need to replace Lee, but they’re in a good spot.

Ultimately, how good Florida can be next year will come down to the NBA Draft decisions from its three-headed monster. Haugh is the least likely to come back after his breakout year, as he’s been placed in some mock drafts in the lottery. Condo is also in the first-round range.

Chinyelu, the National Defensive Player of the Year, doesn’t have the same stock as those two, but after his own breakout campaign, it’s hard to envision him not taking advantage and going pro. If he’s back to anchor the defense and either Haugh or Condon joins him, they’ll have the early roster to beat next year.
