Yes, this past season was a brutal one by Baylor’s standards, never truly a contender at any point. And while they do lose a few seniors from this roster, there’s a chance that the top three scorers can return for another year.
Williams has already announced that he’s back for the Bears. Carr, coming off a breakout campaign after transferring over from Tennessee, should be back if he’s not a sneaky NBA Draft prospect. But all eyes will be on Yessoufou, a former five-star prospect out of high school who had an outstanding first year. His draft prospects are a bit shaky compared to the other top freshmen, so there’s an actual chance he elects to run it back as a sophomore. Plus, top-30 wing prospect Elijah Williams gives them more depth to work with, a clear area of weakness on this recent team.
If that happens, Baylor could quickly rebound to get back into Big 12 contention.Â
