19. Saint Louis Billikens

Likely departures

  • Robbie Avila (12.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.1 apg)
  • Dion Brown (11.3 ppg and 5.4 rpg)
  • Brady Dunlap (7.0 ppg and 2.0 rpg)
  • Paul Otieno (5.3 ppg and 3.9 rpg)

Likely returnees

  • Trey Green (10.7 ppg and 2.9 rpg)
  • Amari McCottry (10.5 ppg and 5.3 rpg)
  • Kellen Thames (9.7 ppg and 4.7 rpg)
  • Ishan Sharma (9.1 ppg and 2.7 rpg)
  • Quentin Jones (9.1 ppg and 3.0 apg)

One of the biggest surprises already in this short offseason has been the Billikens managing to keep Coach Josh Schertz, despite being linked to several open jobs during the carousel. But with the UNC job closed and no other high-major spots expected to open, Saint Louis will not only get to keep him but the bulk of a roster that won 29 games from this past season.

Yes, losing A-10 Player of the Year Avila is a big blow for the program since he made the offense so effective. Plus, Dunlap was a sharpshooter in his own right, shooting 45% from deep. However, both Green and Sharma, who also shot 40+ percent from beyond the arc, are back.

Key glue guys such as McCottry and Thames should keep things going for the Billikens and as long as they figure out the center position this offseason, there’s no reason why they can’t repeat as A-10 champs.
