Coach Sean Miller led Texas to the Sweet 16 in year 1, despite being one of the last four at-large teams in the field. Going forward, he’ll be without the backcourt duo he inherited in Mark and Pope. But there are some talented guards coming in from the top-15 overall recruiting class, including four-star guards Joe Sterling and Bo Ogden, as well as Austin Goosby, a top-20 overall prospect and a 6’6 talented wing.
With Vokietatis back after a breakout sophomore campaign after transferring over from Florida Atlantic, the Longhorns' frontcourt will be in great shape. The question is whether Swain, and whether he’d go pro after his own big year, after following Coach Miller over from Xavier.
Swain led Texas in all three main categories this past season, so it’ll take multiple players from the portal to replace his production. If he’s back, the Longhorns have the chance to move up the SEC ladder next year.
