NCAA Basketball: Picks for Day 11 of 2024-25 season
By Bryan Mauro
What a night again! It wasn’t a night that saw a lot of huge games, but there were many quality games. Initially, I said that there were not a lot of games that had upset potential, but it turns out a lot of power teams struggled, and there were some upsets. Hofstra beat Seton Hall. The Pirates can not score; they have yet to score more than 60 points. North Texas beat Minnesota. The Gophers don’t have much outside of their star Dawson Garcia. Seton Hall and Minnesota might finish last in their respective leagues.
There were other results that were notable as well. Nebraska played much better in a 26-point win over FDU. UConn and Tennessee took care of their business with ease against lesser opponents. USC narrowly escaped UT Arlington. The Mavericks made 16 threes in that game. Washington was down double digits to Seattle Pacific at halftime before finally waking up and winning by 15. Doug Gottlieb gets his first Division 1 head coach win as Green Bay beat Western Illinois.
Yesterday I went 29-13 in my picks. That brings my 10-day total to 348-85 overall. The schedule today is not great. There are not many games, and there are very few games with Power 5 schools. The true College Basketball Junkies will love today because they will get to watch a lot of low majors play. A day with College Basketball is better than any day without that is what I always say. Picks for day 11, November 14, 2024, are below.
North Dakota over Utah Valley
New Orleans over Lindenwood
IU Indianapolis over Eastern Michigan
UMBC over Coppin State
Robert Morris over Stonehill
Jacksonville over South Carolina State
Bryant over Buffalo
Northern Kentucky over Nicholls
Wichita State over Northern Iowa
Missouri over Mississippi Valley State
Chattanooga over Morehead State
Oklahoma State over Southern Illinois
South Dakota State over Northern Colorado
Grand Canyon over Arizona State
Kansas State over LSU
New Mexico State over Texas A&M Corpus Christi
Seattle over Cal Poly
UNLV over Omaha
Northern Arizona over Pacific
There are many mid-major games on the schedule today, but one game is going to be great: Grand Canyon and Arizona State. The Lopes are likely not going to lose very much this year, and Arizona State looked a lot better against Gonzaga, but the verdict is still out on how good they are. LSU and Kansas State do have the potential to be good games as well. Enjoy the hoops.
