NCAA Basketball: Picks for Day 14 of the 2024-25 season
By Bryan Mauro
It turns out there were a lot of quality games on Saturday. It didn’t look like based on the schedule on paper, but there were some fun games that captured the viewer's attention. Seton Hall beat Wagner and held the Seahawks to under 30 points. I have a lot of concerns about the Pirates offense. They can not score at all. Duke blew out Wofford, and Columbia moved to 5-0 with a win over Mercyhurst. Southern Utah is 4-0 for the first time in Division 1 as they beat Omaha. Minnesota struggled to beat Yale, Xavier beat Wake Forest, and Syracuse beat Youngstown State in double-overtime. Notre Dame beat Georgetown, and Indiana beat South Carolina.
Here are some other less notable results but still big time things. Sacred Heart finally is on the board with a win over New Hampshire. UT Rio Grande Valley won the Greenbriar Classic River Division after beating Tennessee Tech. Florida Atlantic beat Liberty in the Field of 68 Tip-Off. Holy Cross won the College Hill Classic and Georgia Southern beat Winthrop in the Rock Hill Classic.
Yesterday I went 55-15 in my picks that brings my 13-day total to 452-117 overall . There is another loaded slate with quality games up and down the schedule. The Field of 68 Challenge continues. The Rock Hill Classic, College Hill Classic and Urban-Bennett Invitational all continue. Picks for day 14 November 16th, 2024 are below.

There is so much going on tomorrow, and the big question is whether the Big Ten can keep their hot streak going. Nebraska and St. Mary’s is the game of the day. The game is at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Nebraska needs this game to prove last year was not a fluke. It would help St. Mary’s to get a huge nonconference power 5 win as well. St. John’s over New Mexico is the second-best game. The Red Storm have their work cut out for them. Enjoy the hoops.
