NCAA Basketball: Picks for Day 16 of the 2024-25 season

There are two very intriguing games on the schedule tonight. One between two top 15 teams and one is a battle of Philly. Outside of that there are a lot of games that could end in blowouts.

There were some games last night with upset potential that never panned out, but it was still an exciting night of hoops. Gonzaga beat San Diego State on the road. This version of the Bulldogs is one we have not seen for a while. They are extremely athletic and have a lot of guys who can score. The defense is fantastic, and Gonzaga is a legitimate title contender this year. Wisconsin survived a scare from a good UT Rio Grande Valley team. The Vaqueros have lost to Nebraska, Creighton, and Wisconsin. Every one of those games was a lot closer than expected.

Yesterday, I went 19-3 in my picks, bringing my 15-day total to 494-131 overall. There are two very intriguing games on the schedule, one between two top-15 teams. The number one team in the country is in action today, and the Big Five Campus Games resume. Outside of the two intriguing games, there could be a lot of blowouts today. One game stands out from the rest today—Marquette and Purdue in Milwaukee. Purdue is coming off a huge win against Alabama, and they are prime for an upset against a good Marquette team. Marquette at home is a different environment that can make it tough for the Boilers. The other intriguing game is Villanova and Penn. Villanova has struggled so far this year, and they can ill afford another loss to a lesser Philly program. Penn is looking for back-to-back wins over the Wildcats. Enjoy the hoops.
