NCAA Basketball: Picks for Day 37 of 2024-25 season
By Bryan Mauro
There were only five games between Division 1 opponents last night, so not much went on. There were three power teams in action last night, and Indiana beat Minnesota in their first Big Ten win. Baylor beat Abilene Christian. Indiana is a team that I am still not sold on. They play the same way as they did last year, and against a team that can shoot the ball from deep, Indiana will be in trouble. They don’t take many three-point attempts, and if they cannot get the ball inside, it will be tough for them to win games. It will be interesting to see if they can figure it out and return to the tournament this season.
Yesterday I went 5-0 in my picks. That brings my 36-day total to 1,109-395 overall. The schedule picks up today but there is still not a large quantity of games. The Jimmy V Classic featuring the current number 1 team in the country is tonight. There is Big Ten conference play resuming. Big East begins. Outside of that there is not much notable happening in the College Basketball world. Picks for day 37 December 10, 2024, are below.
Tennessee over Miami
Butler over North Dakota State
Duke over Incarnate Word
NC State over Coppin State
Florida Atlantic over Jacksonville
Davidson over Charlotte
Princeton over Monmouth
Rutgers over Penn State
Rhode Island over Brown
Xavier over Morgan State
West Virginia over NC Central
Syracuse over Albany
Saint Joseph’s over Charleston
Houston over Troy
Western Kentucky over Tennessee State
South Dakota over Wyoming
Tulane over Southern Mississippi
DePaul over Providence
Arkansas over Michigan
Illinois over Wisconsin
Portland over Kansas City
California over Cornell
Long Beach over San Diego
Washington over Eastern Washington
The Big Ten has already been crazy. Wisconsin and Illinois is a game in which the winner will begin 1-1 and the loser will fall to 0-2. Hard to think that one of those two schools will fall to 0-2 to begin the year. The league is going to be loaded this year. Tennessee is the new number 1 team in the country and they get the Miami Hurricanes in the Jimmy V. Classic. Miami is bad, and Tennessee will likely blow them out. Arkansas and Michigan is one to keep an eye on. The Razorbacks need a good win, and today is a good day to win. Enjoy the hoops.
