NCAA Basketball: Picks for Day 39 of 2024-25 season
By Bryan Mauro
There were very few games of intrigue yesterday. That is to be expected given that the semester is winding down and many schools are taking Finals over the next two weeks. South Dakota State beat Nevada in Reno. It was another missed opportunity for a Wolf Pack team that has not been nearly what we all expected this year. Baylor got a game from Norfolk State for a half before pulling away in the second half. Kentucky got a game from Colgate which was unexpected given how well the Wildcats have been playing.
Yesterday I went 17-4 in my picks. That brings my 38-day total to 1,144-405 overall. There are only 7 games on the schedule today, and most of them are not between high major schools. The schedule does have a couple of games that could result in an upset, but it will most likely be the expected teams are going to win. Picks for day 39 December 12, 2024, are below.
The Citadel over Campbell
Virginia Tech over North Carolina A&T
Virginia over Bethune
Iowa State over Iowa
Arkansas State over UT Arlington
Chattanooga over Evansville
Texas over New Mexico State
That is the entire schedule of games between Division 1 schools today. The Iowa and Iowa State game is going to be great. Iowa State is arguably the best team in the country, and they have looked like it at times this year. Iowa is tough at home and has been playing close games. The Hawkeyes will keep this one close at Carver and do have a shot to win this game, given how much is at stake in the rivalry. Iowa State is the better team and should still wi,n but this is one to watch for. Enjoy the Hoops.
