NCAA Basketball: Picks for Day 4 of the 2024-25 season
By Bryan Mauro
The upsets are starting to happen and last night was a good one for those fans of upsets. Columbia beat Villanova in Philly. It was arguably one of the largest wins the Lions have ever had, as they are a perennial bottom dweller in the Ivy League. Columbia will likely be better this season but that was still unexpected. Mercyhurst got their first win as a member of Division 1 basketball. John Calipari got his first win as the head coach at Arkansas. Ron Sanchez got his first win at Virginia.
Yesterday I went 17-6 in my picks which gives me a 3 day total of 123-24 overall. There are a decent number of games today but with it still being the first week of the season there is not much in the way of competitive games, at least not today. Picks for day 4 November 7, 2024, are below.
Delaware over Robert Morris
Penn over Maryland Eastern Shore
Central Michigan over Stony Brook
North Florida over Charleston Southern
Wake Forest over North Carolina A&T
UAB over Southern Mississippi
Florida over Jacksonville
Bucknell over Southern Indiana
Loyola Chicago over Detroit Mercy
Northern Iowa over Milwaukee
DePaul over Prairie View
Wisconsin over Montana State
Iowa over Southern
Stetson over Omaha
Michigan State over Niagara
SMU over Florida A&M
North Dakota State over Illinois State
Air Force over Jacksonville State
Saint Mary’s over Chattanooga
USC over Idaho State
California over Cal Poly
UC Davis over Idaho
Utah over Central Arkansas
As you see there is not much in the way of games that are going to be competitive today. It is going to be hard to pick a game that is the game of the day because of that but for the purpose of the exercise lets go with Air Force and Jacksonville State. That is a game against two teams who are about the same talent level. Air Force is at home which gives them the edge. Have a great day watching hoops.
